Sundowner is here!

The Maritime School has a NEW boat! Sundowner, our New Gib 43.

Garth and his crew: Annemarie, Rien and Shawn flew to Antigua to prep her and sail her back.

They started the 100 mile Journey on Wednesday January 5th, in the early hours of the morning and arrived here in Sint Maarten late that evening.

Winds were light, they had no engine and no means to cook ... good thing everyone eats peanut butter sandwiches!

In this last week she has been outfitted with a new engine, has been rewired and checked and is ready to go for a test sail Sunday.

This new edition to the school's fleet, will contribute significantly as plans are made for overnight courses, Master of Yacht Practical, Sea Mile Journeys and Staycations.

The vessel is equipped with two double berths and two single berths, two heads, a spacious galley and saloon and a large cockpit. She is comfy and perfect to host students needing liveaboard accommodations.

Sundowner will be venturing down island and various neighboring routes, to enable people to obtain and log their sea miles. These fun adventures, stopping in at the different islands will be highly anticipated by students and seafarers who need to log miles to reach the varying levels of Yacht Master.

Sundowner will also be available for boat charters! Whether for a day sail, an overnighter or a week charter ...the roomy accommodations are perfect for small families, perhaps avid sailing honeymooners or for a group of friends to sail around the island.

Maritime School of the West Indies is ready to book recreational and commercial courses, charters and Sea Mile Journeys on board Sundowner.
