The Day Skipper course is a useful beginner course, designed to be enjoyed as a stepping stone. Here is what the course certifies you for.
Command a vessel up to a maximum length of 10 meters (32.8 feet
Inland waters (bay or lake sailing) or coastal waters up to 5 miles offshore
Daylight hours and in fair conditions with moderate wind and sea conditions.

The Maritime School values practical experience very highly. One of our favorite features of the IYT Day Skipper course is the emphasis it has on practical seamanship skills. Participants have the opportunity to learn through hands-on training sessions over the five-day course.
