STEP ONE: STCW
The STCW is the first step everyone needs to take. this course covers the basics of boat safety, first aid, fire fighting, personal safety, security and sea survival.
STEP TWO: 10 POWERBOAT
The 10M powerboat is the next step we advise to work in the maritime industry.
It is theory and boat handling. You need to be over 16 years old and have boating knowledge and experience.
STEP THREE: BOATMASTER
The Boat Master course is required by the scv code (small commercial vessels), to be a local captain.
The Boat Master 2 and 3 permits the holder to operate a commercial vessel, coastally and the surrounding islands.
STEP FOUR: ENG1
The ENG1 is a medical fitness certificate for those who work at sea. It has to be issued by an MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) approved doctor following a full medical examination.
STEP FIVE: VHF
The Marine Radio Short Range Certificate remains a legal requirement for the use of marine VHF radios. All radios require the user and the vessel to hold a relevant licence.
